Changing your monitor settings

This web site has been optimised for a monitor setting of 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels high. If your monitor is set to display at 640 x 480 pixels and would like to change your settings to a higher screen resolution, please follow the instructions below.

For PC

1. Minimise all of your open windows by pressing the Windows button on your keyboard and 'M'.

2. Go to your Start menu located at the bottom left hand of the screen.

3. Choose 'Settings > Control Panel'

4. A 'Control Panel' pop up window will appear.

5. Double click on 'Display'

6. A 'Display Properties' pop up window will appear

7. The 'Display Properties' utilises a tab system to choose different properties. Choose the 'Settings' tab.

8. In the 'Desktop Area' you will see a slider. If it is set on 640 x 480 pixels, move the slider to the right. The next setting up is 800 x 600 pixels. Click 'OK'.

In this window, you will also see your 'Color Palette'. Be sure that this is on 'High Color (16 Bit)' or higher.

9. You will be asked to confirm these settings, click 'OK'.

10. Your screen will go blank and reset to a higher screen resolution. If you want to go back to 640 x 480 after browsing the website, repeat these actions and choose 640 x 480 pixels. If you are experiencing colour fluctuations, it is advised that the computer be restarted to facilitate new settings.

For Macintosh

1. Go to the Apple Menu located at the top right hand of the screen.

2. Choose 'Control Panels > Monitors & Sound'

3. A 'Monitors & Sound' pop up window will appear.

4. Under 'Resolution', double click 800 x 600, 75Hz

5. This will apply the resolution change. If you want to go back to 640 x 480 after browsing the website, repeat these actions and choose 640 x 480, 67Hz.
