Rated 2 out of 5 by Andy from Manual and controls are confusing There are three cotton programs but it's not clear if there is a temperature difference between them. As far as I can tell there isn't because cotton sheets were scorched on the Cotton Cupboard Dry setting. Sensor doesn't seem to be very good either because it takes almost 2 hours to dry clothes that were almost dry when put in the dryer. I contacted support about 2 weeks ago for clarification on the temperature settings but I guess they don't know because they haven't got back to me since. Simpson might have been a reputable brand but I wouldn't recommend it now and I will not buy Electrolux products in the future.

Rated 3 out of 5 by kev64x from Timer is useless Purchased this as it was supposedly a leap in dryer technology, was going to get the base model I had once before. I set the timer to say 30 minutes & check it 45 mins later. It is still going & timer still say's 30 mins. It should get a minus star rating as I bet heaps of people just push the button again once it actually stops going, as the timer will still say what ever you set it to.

However, the cupboard and iron functions do not completely dry the clothes, especially collars, jeans and thick socks. Have to put clothes back in for more drying time. There is no timer on any cycles to indicate how long is left. Iron function is useless as shirts come out all crinkled. Overall best to buy basic dryer without useless functions. Also, when mount dryer upside down, writing is hard to read.

I am frustrated because the knob does not click, it just beep and how do i know it is set. I think I wasted my time purchased this stupid technology dryer. I have read the booklet many times and it does not explained clearly.

I am very happy with the dryer but too early to tell whether it will last long term. It definitely did a better job than the aldi. The lint filter system was much better too. Con: It didn’t come with anything else apart from the wall mounts. Really need to be able to vent the hot air. Would give a higher rating but it’s too early to tell

After years of timed drying, the new “auto” drying feature is great but it took us some time to work it out as the manual is pretty basic. Fortunately, the informative video and product information on the Appliances Online website helped us figure it out. And how good is it, the choice of auto dry and timed drying is great and the airing function is very handy. Overall, a great dryer and we are very happy with it.

Firstly, I placed this order at about 9.30pm. I live in regional NSW and I was completely blown away to see that it was going to be delivered the very next day from Sydney. Sure enough it turned up at lunchtime, with plenty of notification, and I watched in awe as the delivery guy unpacked it and carried it inside on his own. Talk about service! I have used the dryer about 5 or 6 times, to finish off towels, sheets etc after hanging on the line. Works perfectly fine, very efficient. Haven't entirely worked out the settings but it seems to beep at me when it wants me to check the contents. Very pleased and would highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beanie from Dry as a bone Our Simpson 5.5kg dryers drum has sufficient room for the two of us for our weekly work clothes and a couple of towels, The drum is much bigger than I expected. Our Simpson is really quiet compared to our 1980 model dryer. The lint filter is easy to access in the front of the drum just inside the door opening. We chose this model which features a dial rather than an electronic button panel thinking simplicity, but there is an array of settings to choose from and will require some learning. I have not experienced much moisture expelling from the front vent, but Ive only used it twice so far. I am very pleased with this appliance and feel I have made the right choice to suite our needs.
